The centre is dedicated to the rehabilitation of mistreated, injured, orphaned, and/or confiscated animals.[1] Once the animals are fully rehabilitated,[2] they are reintroduced into their natural habitats in protected areas within Costa Rica, mainly in La Ceiba primary forest .[3] Visitors are permitted in the centre during certain times each day. The center was created and is run by Encar Garcia, a Catalan biologist, and rehabilitates numerous mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians.[4] The centre also houses a large serpentarium of venomous and nonvenomous snakes native to Costa Rica.
