Playing careerCabell played cornerback for the Nebraska Cornhuskers under head coach Bob Devaney. He was recruited in the class of 1974 and played during the 1975 and 1976 seasons.[1] Cabel was a junior college transfer because he played for one year at Ferrum College in Ferrum, Virginia, where he earned an associate degree. Before that, he played his freshman year at North Carolina Central.[2] Coaching careerSouthwesternCabell was the 24th football coach for the Southwestern College Moundbuilders in Winfield, Kansas,[3] and held that position for the 1992 season.
