Tebbs (May 1878 – after 1901) was an English professional footballer who made 37 appearances in the Football League playing for Loughborough and Small Heath. He played as an outside left.[1] Tebbs was born in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. He played in the Second Division for Loughborough, and was the club's leading scorer – with only 4 goals out of the 18 they scored – in the 1899–1900 season, Loughborough's last in the Football League.[2][3] He then joined Small Heath, but the form of Sid Wharton restricted Tebbs to four appearances in two years, and he then returned to Leicestershire to play non-league football for Leicester United.[2] References1. ^{{cite book |last=Joyce |first=Michael |title=Football League Players' Records 1888 to 1939 |publisher=SoccerData (Tony Brown) |location=Nottingham |year=2004 |page=256 |isbn=978-1-899468-67-6}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Tebbs, James}}{{England-footy-forward-1870s-stub}}2. ^1 {{cite book |last=Matthews |first=Tony |title=Birmingham City: A Complete Record |year=1995 |publisher=Breedon Books |location=Derby |page=128 |isbn=978-1-85983-010-9}} 3. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.fchd.info/lghist/fl1900.htm |title=Football League 1899–00 |work=Football Club History Database |publisher=Richard Rundle |accessdate=1 April 2009}} 10 : 1878 births|Year of death missing|People from Melton Mowbray|English footballers|Association football forwards|Loughborough F.C. players|Birmingham City F.C. players|Leicester United F.C. players|English Football League players|Place of death missing |
