She was a housewife until the sudden death of her husband. She was elected to the state legislative assembly in a by-election after death of her husband, Shri Savjibhai Korat,[1] in 1999, as the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate.[2] She was a Member of Legislative Assembly from Jetpur Constituency. Later in 2001 she was appointed as State Minister for Women and Child Welfare.[1] Again in state election of year 2002 she was elected as Member of Legislative Assembly from Jetpur Constituency.[3] In year 2005 she was appointed as State Minister for Women and Child Welfare.
