Jason "Jay" Willis (born July 7, 1981 in Ludlow, Massachusetts) is an American soccer player who currently plays for Western Mass Pioneers in the USL Premier Development League. He is also the current head men's soccer coach at Worcester State University.

Career

Youth and college

Willis attended Ludlow High School, winning two state championships[1] and played one year of college soccer at Holyoke Community College before transferring to Southern New Hampshire University as a sophomore. He was named to the ALL NE-10 second team in 2003.[2]

Professional

Willis turned professional in 2005 with the Western Mass Pioneers, and has been ever-present since then, anchoring the Pioneers defense, and helping the team to the USL2 regular season title in his debut year. In his five years at Lusitano Stadium, Willis has played almost 100 games for the Pioneers, scoring four goals.

In 2007, he was named to the USL Second Division All-League First Team, as voted on by club general managers and coaches.[3] He played his 100th game for Western Mass on June 19, 2009 in a PDL regular season game against the Albany BWP Highlanders.[4]

Willis also has indoor soccer experience, having played for several seasons with the Massachusetts Twisters in the National Indoor Soccer League.[5]

Coaching

In January 2010 Willis was hired as the new head men's soccer coach at Worcester State University.[6]
