After graduating cum laude from Yale University with a degree in English literature, he joined the Ubisoft Montreal studio, working on the games Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Assassin's Creed II, before writing Brotherhood, Far Cry 3 and Child of Light.[2][3] His most recent published project is Assassin's Creed Syndicate, released in October 2015. In the past, he filmed and directed the documentary Human Eaters,[4] and was an intern at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.[2] Jeffrey has won a Writers Guild of America Award for his work as lead writer of Brotherhood.[5] He was also nominated for a Writers Guild of America Award[6] and a BAFTA Games Award for his work on Assassin's Creed II.[7] Jeffrey is openly gay, and has stated that "I grew up playing games as an escape from the bullies at school", which helped lead him to his current career path.[8] Jeffrey's experience with his sexuality was part of what led him to include a male character being raped in Far Cry 3: "That was the director and me kind of saying, 'Listen, all of these female characters have been treated this way by video games, and we want to have a male character live that, we think it’s really important that the gender be flipped.' We wanted to make gamers uncomfortable.
