James McSherry (born 12 February 1952 in Glasgow) is a Scottish former football player and manager. Football careerMcSherry's footballing career started at Kilmarnock in 1970. A midfielder he made 118 appearances for the club scoring 8 goals. In 1975, he joined Ayr United where he made 190 appearance, scoring 10 goals. In 1982, he joined Berwick Rangers as player manager making 24 appearance and scoring 1 goal. After leaving Berwick Rangers in January 1983 he had a short spell with Stirling Albion before spending a season with Cypriot club Pezoporikos Larnaca. In 1984, he returned to Stirling Albion for another brief spell before retiring from the game. Post-playing careerIn 1989 McSherry returned to management as assistant to Jim Fleeting at Kilmarnock[1] but left in 1992. McSherry worked as commercial manager for Kilmarnock.
