This riding was created in 1966 from parts of Cariboo and Kamloops ridings. It was abolished in 1976 when it was redistributed into Cariboo—Chilcotin, Kamloops—Shuswap, Okanagan North, Okanagan—Similkameen and Prince George–Bulkley Valley ridings.
