Jinan Qingqi Motorcycle Co., Ltd ({{zh|s=济南轻骑摩托车股份有限公司}}) is a Chinese manufacturer of mopeds, quadbikes and other small engined & electric motorcycles that was founded in 1956. The company headquarters is located in Jinan, Shandong Province. Qingqi is probably the best known moped brand in modern China and the company is one of the larger manufacturers of small engine motorcycles in the world, but is almost completely unknown outside its domestic market, it is however a large original equipment manufacturer provider to companies such as Cycle Union,[1] Suzuki and Peugeot.[2] In the case of the latter two companies that has eventually lead to the formation of joint ventures including JQ/Suzuki venture called Plum Qingqi Motors company that is based in Pakistan and also trades using the Qingqi trademark. As of October 2010 Jinan Qingqi is ranked as China's 20th biggest motorcycle manufacturer (by volume output) with a total output of 612,993 for the 2009 year. A decline of 5.68% from the previous year. Qingqi serve markets globally and have made large investments in several emerging markets like Africa. Sinnis Motorcycles share two models with Peugeot Motor Co. the first model is the Jet, known as the Peugeot V Clic (Discontinued 2011) and the second the Matrix II also known as the Peugeot Sum up 125. (Discontinued by Peugeot 2011). Sinnis marketing manager (Anthony Jackson) co-developed the Trackstar model in 2009 for the UK, making way for the Retrostar and Cafe 125 variants in 2011. The first series of the Retrostar was distributed by a smaller UK distributor(Zing Bikes)under the pseudonym 'HMC' known as the 'Classic' to test the market in 2011. Sinnis launched their own badged version in 2013 known as the 'Retrostar' and 'Cafe'. The Apache 250 version began development in 2010 and after 4 years of development is planned to enter the UK market from March 2014. This model uses the oil cooled Suzuki GN based 250cc with Siemens technology fuel injection and many features above the 125cc version built by Jinan Qingqi. In 2017 Sinnis Motorcycles have released their EFI, Euro 4 models to the market which includes the Sinnis Terrain 125cc Adventure bike, and SMR Apache with new trellis design frame etc. The SMR was co-developed by Michael Garrod at Sinnis motorcycles and Jinan Qingqi in China. It still features the Original engine (Suzuki) from the earlier Apache, with the addition of fuel injection, and a newly designed frame, fuel tank, clock, seat and features twin under seat exhaust. Garrod also designed the Sinnis Encanto 50cc Scooter for Sinnis and the Terrain. Sinnis won the coveted Motorcycle Dealer of the Year Merit Award in 2017, at the British Dealer News Trade show. Voted for by over 1000 UK motorcycle dealers. Sinnis Motorcycles formed in 2006 and opened its first Motorcycle and Scooter shop in Brighton the same year. A partnership was formed with Jinan Qingqi (Suzuki engine manufacturer and partner), and Sinnis released the Apache 125cc and Max 125cc motorcycles in May 2006. The same year Sinnis expanded to bring on a dealer network in the UK, offering motorcycle and scooter dealers the chance to retail both the Sinnis Max and Sinnis Apache as well as 50cc and 125cc Scooters, manufactured by partner factories in China. Sinnis specialise in learner legal 50cc and 125cc machines, but are also known for the Apache 250cc Supermoto. 2019 sees the release of their first 380cc Adventure Bike model - the Terrain T380 In 2007 the Sinnis Apache Supermoto 125cc gained popular notoriety and Sinnis purchased a 3-acre additional site for warehousing and logistics in Laughton, East Sussex. Also in 2007 Sinnis began importing scooters from the Peugeot partner factory in China, and selling through the growing UK dealer network. In 2008 came the release of the Sinnis Blade 125cc, Sinnis Stealth 125cc, Sinnis Eagle and other models into the range - along with bringing on over 50 UK dealers to the Sinnis Dealer Network. In 2010, Sinnis break the 1000 model sales target in the UK, and at the same time, Jinan Qingqi breaks the 1000000 (1 Million) sales target worldwide. 2011 saw the Sinnis Apache 125cc, as piloted by a Sinnis Marketing man as the first bike to complete the Mongol Rally. A rally for cars and motorcycles covering over 10,000 miles from Goodwood in the UK to Ulan Bator in Mongolia. In 2013 Sinnis increase their dealer network to over 100 dealers Uk wide. 2015 saw the Sinnis Cafe 125cc and Sinnis SP125 completing a 6 day 6 country challenge for the Riders for Health Charity. 2015 also saw Sinnis sales topping the 3000 mark in the UK. 2016 Sinnis entered into a partnership with Piaggio/Harley Davidson factory, Zongshen in China and released the Sinnis Terrain 125cc Adventure bike, Hoodlum 125cc Cruiser and the RSX 125cc Street bike into the range. Sinnis purchase a new 75000 sq ft premises, to house offices, distribution and a second Motorcycle store in Southwick, West Sussex. Also in 2016 the Sinnis Scrambler 125cc and Sinnis Retrostar 250 ride to the Isle of Man and complete the TT Classic event - 1200 miles in 3 days. 2017 Sinnis R&D help develop the electronic fuel injection systems for the current range of motorcycles and scooters, with extensive testing in Wales, UK. Sinnis now increase the dealer network to 135 dealers in the UK and also branch into Slovakia, Poland and Malta with new dealers. Sinnis win the Merit Motorcycle Franchise of the Year award, voted by over 2000 dealers in the UK for service, quality and support. 2018 Sinnis win the scooter franchise of the year award and the merit award for Motorcycle Franchise of the Year. Sinnis enter into a partnership with the AA, providing recovery and rescue programs for all of their new models. Sinnis gain the Hyosung Motorcycles Korea, contract for supplying the UK. Sinnis becomes the first UK distributor for NIU electric scooters 2019 Sinnis launch the Niu Electric NGT, UPro and M+ Scooters to the UK. OLEV and Government grant applicable scooters with Zero emissions. Sinnis Launch the Matrix3i 125cc and JetII 50cc Scooter to the market. The new Hyosung Aquila GV125S Cruiser motorcycle is launched into the UK. Sinnis win Scooter franchise of the year and a merit award for Motorcycle franchise of the year - by British Dealer News voted for by over 2000 UK independent dealers of motorcycles and scooters.
