The municipality covers an area of {{convert|16.44|km2|sqmi}}, and has a population of 485 (as at 3 July 2006). Jindřichov lies approximately {{convert|31|km|mi|0}} north-east of Přerov, {{convert|37|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} east of Olomouc, and {{convert|244|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} east of Prague. It was founded in 1499.
