John Matthews (2 August 1847 — 25 September 1912) was an English cricketer who played for Gloucestershire. He was born in Clifton, Bristol and died in Maidenhead. Matthews made a single first-class appearance for the side, during the 1872 season, against Sussex. He did not bat or bowl during the match. Matthews' brother, Thomas, played for Gloucestershire for eight years. External links
