John S. Najarian (born December 22, 1927) is a transplant surgeon and is Clinical Professor of Transplant Surgery at the University of Minnesota. Najarian is the father of the former NFL football player and CNBC market analyst Pete Najarian and options trader Jon Najarian. Najarian was chairman of the department of surgery at the University of Minnesota Medical School until 1993. Legal troubleIn 1995, Najarian was charged with marketing and selling antilymphocite globulin (ALG) an anti rejection drug without disclosing serious adverse reactions.
