It was established by William J. Clench who named it after Charles W. Johnson, who had been one of the men who convinced Clench to pursue the study of molluscs. It was primarily focused on the study of molluscs in the Western Atlantic, containing book reviews, guides on where to find various molluscs, drawings of and descriptions of molluscs, and related items.[1][2] External links1. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.worldcat.org/title/johnsonia/oclc/1607451|website=OCLC WorldCat|title=Johnsonia|accessdate=14 September 2015}} 2. ^{{cite web|title=Selected Sources of Information on Mollusks: Regional Identification|url=http://www.si.edu/encyclopedia_si/nmnh/mollregm.htm|website=Smithsonian Website|publisher=Smithsonian Foundation|accessdate=14 September 2015}} 6 : Malacology journals|Harvard University academic journals|Publications established in 1941|Publications disestablished in 1974|English-language journals|Academic journals published by museums |
