Mann was born in Jablonné v Podještědí, Bohemia (present-day Czech Republic). He was a painter, expedition collector and preparator at the Hofkabinet in Vienna, Austria. Mann worked with the curator Alois Friedrich Rogenhofer. He died in Vienna. Bibliography
