Freeman attended the 10th annual Tuskegee Tuition Assistance Dinner Dance hosted by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. in January 2008. Retired Major General Irene Trowell-Harris was present along with several original Tuskegee Airmen: Willie Jackson, Isaiah Edward Robinson and William Wheeler.[2] Freeman attended the 2007 annual College Now summer awards ceremony at York College in Jamaica, New York along with eight original Tuskegee Airmen: Dr. Roscoe Brown Jr., Lt. Col. Lee Archer, Maj. Victor Terrelonge, Lt. William Wheeler, Maj. Humphrey Patton, Lt. Col. Floyd Carter, Richard Brathwaite and Carl Finley.[3] Freeman accepted a Congressional Gold Medal bronze replica at a ceremony at St. Phillips Pentecostal Church in Harlem along with three original Tuskegee Airmen: Reginald T. Brewster, Alton Burton, and Frederick Lawrence.
