History and profileKansai Time Out was first published in February 1977.[1] The founders were David Jack and his wife, Sachiko Matsunaga.[1] Matsunaga was also the publisher.[1] It was published on a monthly basis.[2] The headquarters of the monthly was in Kobe.[2]Chris Stephens served as the editor-in-chief of the magazine, which featured articles about social, political and cultural events.[1] The magazine also published several lists.[2] It folded in 2009 after failing to embrace the internet (compared with other expat magazines in Japan its website drew on very little of its wealth of archive material and had little advertising). The last issue to be published was #391 in September 2009.
