The pass traverses the mountains at {{convert|644|m|ft|0}} and is {{convert|21|km|mi|1}} long. The road is {{convert|5.5|m|ft|1}} wide with a maximum grade of 5.3%. The minimum curve radius is {{convert|90|m|ft}}. Snow is possible on the pass from October to May.[1] Japan National Route 38 crosses the pass between Minamifurano and Shintoku.
