Colclough began cycling competitively in 2004, the following year she was selected to ride for British Cycling's Talent Team. She joined the Olympic Development Programme in 2006.[1] In 2008-2009 Colclough rode road races with Team Halfords Bikehut.[3] In 2011, she signed with the professional team {{ct|TCW|2011}} (now known as {{ct|TCW}}).[4] Colclough was part of the Specialized-lululemon squad which won the team time trial at the 2013 UCI Road World Championships, where she announced that she would be retiring from the sport after the road race.[5] PalmarèsSource:[6] {{div col|colwidth=30em}}
