It lies approximately {{convert|16|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} north-east of the regional capital Kraków.[1] The village has an approximate population of 700. HistoryAs a result of the Partitions of Poland (1772–1795), the Galicia area and Kraków were attributed to the Habsburg Monarchy.[2] Kocmyrzów was in the Bezirkshauptmannschaft (powiat?) of Kraków area [3] when the post-office was opened in Austrian Galicia in 1878.
