Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. It lies approximately {{convert|8|km|mi|0}} south-west of Wińsko, {{convert|10|km|mi|0}} north-west of Wołów, and {{convert|47|km|mi|0}} north-west of the regional capital Wrocław.
