The Pamba River flows by the southern side of the settlement, providing fertile soil. The settlement is in the parliamentary constituency of Pathanamthitta; the representative is Mr.Anto Antony. GeographyThe Pamba river and the surrounding hills and valleys make Kottathur one of the most picturesque places in Ayrioor.
