It lies approximately {{convert|3|km|mi|0}} west of Oleśnica, {{convert|15|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south-west of Staszów, and {{convert|56|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south-east of the regional capital Kielce.[3] The village has a population of {{decrease}} 196. DemographyAccording to the 2002 Poland census, there were 198 people residing in Kępie village, of whom 50.5% were male and 49.5% were female. In the village, the population was spread out with 27.8% under the age of 18, 37.9% from 18 to 44, 15.7% from 45 to 64, and 18.7% who were 65 years of age or older.[4]
