It is situated in the Castrovirreyna Province, Santa Ana District and in the Huaytará Province, Pilpichaca District. Choclococha lies east of a lake named Orcococha and north of Caracocha.[2] The Choclococha dam was completed in 1960. It is {{convert|280|m|ft|abbr=on}} long and {{convert|12|m|yd|abbr=on}} tall. The reservoir has a volume of {{convert|66,000|m3|acre.foot|abbr=on}} and a capacity of {{convert|170,00,000|m3|acre.foot|abbr=on}}.[3] See also
