When the leaves die back they wither and curl into a circle. This eventually detaches from the stem, and acts as the functional equivalent of a samara, carrying the attached bulbil to a new site.[1] References1. ^1 Julian Mark Hugh Shaw, Three New Crûg Farm Introductions, Plantsman 7(1): 39-43 (2008){{dead link|date=December 2017 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }} {{Taxonbar|from=Q1462289}}{{liliales-stub}}2. ^Kew World Checklist of Selected Plant Families 4 : Lilium|Epiphytes|Endemic flora of Vietnam|Plants described in 2008 |
