Notes1. ^Miller, p. 7; supported by Bobinski, p. 17. 2. ^1 At various times, Bobinski and Jones disagree on these numbers. In these cases, Jones' numbers have been used due to both a more recent publication date and a more detailed gazetteer of branch libraries, which are often where the discrepancies occur. 3. ^Cities awarded more than one branch have only one, total amount reflected in this column. 4. ^{{cite web |url=https://www.munciepubliclibrary.org/carnegie |title=Muncie Public Library - Carnegie Library |publisher=Muncie Public Library |access-date=June 29, 2018}} 5. ^{{cite web|url=https://waveland.lib.in.us/|title=Waveland-Brown Township Public Library|access-date=March 9, 2019}} 6. ^1 Miller, pp. 38–40
