This is a list of episodes of the Japanese anime H2O: Footprints in the Sand. The episodes are directed by Hideki Tachibana and produced by the Japanese animation studio Zexcs. The anime is based on the visual novel of the same name by the Japanese software company Makura, and follows the story of Takuma Hirose, a blind young male high school student, who moves from the city to a rural area where he meets three girls who he gradually gets to know named Hayami Kohinata, Hinata Kagura, and Otoha. The anime started airing on January 4, 2008 on the Fukui TV Japanese television network. Two pieces of theme music are used for the episodes; one opening theme and one ending theme. The opening theme is {{Nihongo|"One-winged Icarus"|片翼のイカロス|Katayoku no Ikarosu}} by Yui Sakakibara, and the ending theme is {{Nihongo|"Kazahane"|カザハネ}} by Haruka Shimotsuki.

Takuma protects Hayami from being beaten up at school the next day and soon Hinata intervenes, ending the fight and protecting both of them. Following after Takuma, Hotaru arrives with the police to arrest her grandfather and his supporters. Takuma suffers from a mental trauma that causes his mind to return to his childhood stage…to the time when his mother was still alive. He now thinks that Hayami is his mother. Hayami and Takuma is to return to Takuma’s old home where he and his real mother once lived because the doctor recommended that it is best for Takuma to be living in the same environment that his mental state is in. The life of Hayami being Takuma’s mother goes on, while Takuma still have bits and pieces of memories of the true Hayami. While returning from the grocery store Takuma and Hayami came upon a railroad track, Hayami unintentionally creates a scene of the past as a kid runs by them towards the railroad. By sacrificing herself, Hayami made Takuma realize that Takuma’s mother did not commit suicide, but was killed by trying to save Takuma who had wandered on the train track after a volleyball. At the end of the episode, it is shown that Takuma returned to the village and built a windmill on the hill where he first met Hayami. As soon as he finishes the windmill and his uncle leaves, Takuma meets Otoha in a younger state. Otoha then tells Takuma that she managed to convince the Spirit Committee to bring Hayami back to life. Hayami meets Takuma with the bell strapped on her neck, and together upon that hill, they gaze upon the windmill.
