{{notability|Lists|date=July 2009}}{{main|South Fork Eel River}}The South Fork Eel River, a river in the northern part of the U.S. state of California, rises near Laytonville and flows about {{convert|105|mi|km}} in a northerly direction to its confluence with the Eel River near Weott. Some major tributares of the mostly free-flowing river include Tenmile Creek, the East Branch South Fork Eel River near Benbow, and Hollow Tree Creek. The river drains {{convert|689|mi2|km2}} and is said to be the primary river supporting coho salmon in the state. This list of crossings of the river proceeds from mouth to its headwaters. Thirty-five bridges are listed, including on the South Fork and on a large tributary, Tenmile Creek. (The East Branch South Fork Eel River, though larger, is by far less developed than Tenmile, so it is not listed.) Cartography by NAVTEQ, 2009. 3. ^1 2 Judged by Google Earth satellite imagery, by Tele Atlas, Digital Globe (2009) 4. ^Google Maps spells this as "Sprowl Creek Road" but most other sources and maps spell it "Sproul Creek Road", in reference to nearby Sproul Creek, which is a tributary of the South Fork Eel River, and is also labelled on Google Maps as "Sproul Creek". Therefore, the spelling "Sproul" is correct. 5. ^{{Cite web|url=http://en.structurae.de/structures/data/index.cfm?id=s0041246|title=South Fork Eel River Bridge: Confusion Hill Bridge South|date=|publisher=en.structurae.de|work=Structurae|accessdate=2009-07-16}} 6. ^Google Maps spells the name of the road "10 Mile Creek Road", but judging by the creek the road is most likely named for, it is possible that that is just a misspelling or abbreviation.
