1. ^In the 1943–44 and 1944–45 seasons the VfL competed as Kriegsspielgemeinschaft VfL 1848/Preußen Bochum together with Vereinigte Preußen Bochum.
2. ^Due to World War II the 1944–45 season was abandoned, with only a few matches played.
