It was incorporated July 23, 1850, and opened in April 1853.[1] Originally, it was owned by the Harmony Society, and ran from Temperanceville, Pennsylvania on the Ohio River to Banksville, Pennsylvania, running parallel to Saw Mill Run[2] and Little Saw Mill Run. In an agreement with the {{RailGauge|3ft|lk=on}} narrow gauge Pittsburgh Southern Railroad, it ran dual gauge tracks. It became part of the railroad empire of George J. Gould, merging with the West Side Belt Railroad in 1897.[3][4] References1. ^{{cite web |title=Little Saw Mill Run Railroad |url=http://www.spdconline.org/history/Facts/WabashBridge.html |accessdate=2009-01-03}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Little Saw Mill Run Railroad}}{{Pittsburgh-stub}}{{Pennsylvania-transport-stub}}{{US-rail-transport-stub}}2. ^{{cite news |title= A Pennsylvania Coal Mine|url= https://timesmachine.nytimes.com/timesmachine/1873/08/04/79041909.pdf |work= New York Times |publisher= |date= 4 August 1873 |accessdate=30 July 2009 | format=PDF}} 3. ^{{cite book |editor1-first= John S. |editor1-last=Vaill |editor2-first=Thomas Jr. |editor2-last=Ewing |title=Pittsburgh Legal Journal |url=https://books.google.com/?id=jUIWAAAAYAAJ&pg=PA24-IA6&lpg=PA24-IA6&dq=%22Little+Saw+Mill+Run+Railroad%22+%22West+Side+Belt+Railroad%22 |format= |series= New Series |volume= XXXIII |date= July 15, 1903 |publisher= John S.
