}}Lophiotoma acuta, commonly known as the marbled turrid, is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Turridae, the turrids.[1] There is one subspecies, Lophiotoma acuta jickelii DescriptionThe size of an adult shell varies between 30 mm and 90 mm. The fusiform shell is less carinated and has more rounded revolving ribs than other species in this genus. The sutures are characterized by large spots and smaller ones elsewhere, coalescing into longitudinal streaks.[2] DistributionThis marine species occurs in the Red Sea, in the Indian Ocean and in the Indo-West Pacific along the Philippines, Japan and Hong Kong.
