The Los Angeles Lakers radio networks consist of two separate networks for the coverage of Los Angeles Lakers NBA basketball. One is an English language network while the other is a Spanish language network. There are 17 total stations in four states (Arizona, California, Nevada, and New Mexico) between the two networks. {{TOC limit|2}}On-air personnelCurrent announcers for the English-language network include John Ireland as the play-by-play announcer since 2011. The color commentator since 2004 is former Lakers player (with the team for their 1987 & 1988 championships) Mychal Thompson. Thompson, who originally worked with Spiro Deedes stayed on as an announcer when the broadcasts moved from KLAC to KSPN at the start of the 2009-2010 season.[1][2] Former on-air personnel for the network have included legendary play-by-play announcer Chick Hearn and former NBA player Stu Lantz as a color commentator.[3] Pat Riley served as a color commentator for the network from 1977 until late 1979 when he became an assistant coach for the team.[4] English-language network{{Location map+ |USA California Southern|float=right |width=349 |caption=Map of radio affiliates |places={{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=35.45|long=-118.946667|label=KHTY }}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=33.930278|long=-116.922222|label=KMET|position=bottom}}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=34.912222|long=-117.0275|label=KSZL}}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=33.119722|long=-117.118611|label=KFSD}}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=34.706111|long=-118.176667|label=KAVL}}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=34.173889|long=-118.409722|label=KSPN|position=top|mark=Gold pog.svg }}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=34.094722|long=-117.612778|label=KSPA|position=bottom}}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=33.858056|long=-116.494167|label=KKGX}}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=34.236944|long=-119.2025|label=KVTA}}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=35.634444|long=-117.670833|label=KLOA}}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=34.072222|long=-117.297778|label=KTIE}}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=32.851111|long=-116.964167|label=KLSD}}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=35.264167|long=-120.665556|label=KXTK}}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=34.470833|long=-119.675833|label=KTMS}}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=35.401944|long=-119.045833|label=KWAC|mark=Green pog.svg|position=bottom}}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=34.019444|long=-118.345556|label=KWKW|mark=Green pog.svg}}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|lat=34.019722|long=-117.717500|label=KTMZ|mark=Green pog.svg|position=top}}{{Location map~ |USA California Southern|mark=TransparentPlaceholder.png |marksize=2 |lat=33.5342232|long=-121.342031|label=Not shown KYVA KBAD KENO }} }} The English-language Los Angeles Lakers Radio Network is a three-state, 17-station network with KSPN ("710 ESPN") serving as the flagship.[5] Starting with the 2009-2010 season, KSPN took over the flagship position under a five-year deal, thus ending the Lakers' three-decade relationship with KLAC.[6] KLAC served as the Lakers' flagship station from 1977 to 2009.[7] Network affiliatesCalifornia
