She served as Minister of European Integration and Government’s Spokesperson from 2007-2013 in the Berisha cabinet.(From the SAA ratification, application of EU membership, entry into force and implementation of the first transitory phase; visa liberalisation up to granting candidate status. Lead the process of the set up of the legal and institutional framework for the coordination and management of the EUI process; Initiator of the first bilateral agreements on EUI cooperation in the region, still in place. Agreement with Croatia, Slovenia, Kosovo and Montenegro Member of Parliament Democratic Party (Centre Right) from 2005-2017. 2005-2007, Chair of Albanian Parliamentary Delegation at the European Parliament Chair of the subcommittee for Minors and Gender Equality. From 2013-2017 she held the positions of the Chair of EU Integration Parliamentary Committee & Chair of the National Council on European Integration. Initiator of the “European Summer School”,focused on enhancing capacities and identification of negotiators of the Albanian Team from the public administration sector and civil society, in perspective of the opening of Accession Talks with EU. She held a Master's degree in Social Policy at the University of Tirana in 2003. She has a PhD from Urbino University in Italy with a thesis entitled "Sociology of cultural phenomena's and normative process".[2] CareerFrom 1996 and 2007 she worked as Full Time Lecturer at the Social Sciences Faculty, University of Tirana. 2004 was appointed as National Coordinator of Gender Institute, University of Tirana. From the time she was a student(1992) she began her TV media experience, first as translator, then anchorperson and Journalist at the Department of News,( National Albanian Television), later author of series of programs in Investigative Journalism such as smuggling of humans and trafficking of women and girls; author of a series of TV Doc-Fiction programs on human rights. Bregu was the coordinator of the Social Policies at the Political Orientation Committee of the Democratic Party in January 2004. Then she became a Member of the National Council of the Party in April 2004.
