He first appears in Silver Sable and the Wild Pack #8, (January 1993), and was created by Gregory Wright and Steven Butler. Fictional character biographyMalcolm Gregory "Greg" Murphy, as the Man-Eater, is a merged tiger and human, in body and mind. This experiment was conducted by a splinter cell of Hydra called the Genesis Coalition. He was freed from the experimentation that combined Malcolm Murphy with a tiger by Battlestar of Silver Sable's Wild Pack.[1] He was a member of Silver Sable's Intruders (with the Fin, Lightbright, Paladin, and Sandman) and served alongside the Wild Pack.[2] Man-Eater was with the Wild Pack when they assisted Spider-Man in Latveria when rescuing Betty Brant from Dreadknight.[3] Following the "Civil War" storyline, Man-Eater is a member of the Fifty State Initiative's Vermont team called the Garrison,[4] alongside his old ally the Fin. They were first seen having been assigned to apprehend Thunderbolts member Penance only to be defeated by him.[5] Powers and abilitiesMan-Eater possesses super-strength, durability, speed, agility, stamina, and senses that also include an acute sense of smell.
