He batted and threw right-handed, and was 5 foot 9. Castillo played 3 seasons in Major League Baseball, with the Kansas City Royals in {{mlby|1980}} and the Seattle Mariners in {{mlby|1982}} and {{mlby|1983}}. Castillo had his best season in 1982 with the Mariners when he had 130 hits, had an average of .257, and all 3 of his career home runs.
