The game serves as a side story (or gaiden) to The March of the Black Queen, taking place at the same time and following the quest of Prince Tristan—who also appears in the aforementioned title—from its beginning. The Prince of Zenobia is almost identical to March of the Black Queen in appearance and gameplay, but presents different areas and new character classes.
