It is a left tributary of the Vilyuy River (in the drainage basin of the Lena River). Markha is {{convert|1181|km|mi}} long, with a drainage basin of {{convert|99000|km2|mi2}}. Its average discharge is {{convert|405|m3/s|cuft/s}}.
