Mark Moffett (born 7 January 1958) is a biologist and entomologist.

Education

Moffett received his Ph.D. in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology from Harvard University in 1989.{{cn|date=February 2019}} Moffett is a Research Associate in the Department of Entomology at the National Museum of Natural History in the Smithsonian Institution and a visiting scholar at the Department of Human Evolution at Harvard.{{cn|date=January 2019}}

Exhibits and media

In 2009, the exhibition Farmers Warriors, Builders: the Hidden Life on Ants opened at the National Museum of Natural History in the Smithsonian Institution, containing 40 of Moffett’s images.[1][2] Moffett has been a speaker for The Moth and is a lecturer for the National Geographic Society.[3][4] Moffett has appeared multiple times on the Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Colbert Report.[5] He has also been interviewed in such radio programs as National Geographic’s Weekend Edition,[6] NPR programs,[7] West Coast Live!,[8] Voice of America,[9] CBS Sunday Morning, and Living on Earth.[10]
