词条 | Marquess Lie of Zhao |
释义 | Marquess Lie of Zhao (?-400 BCE) ({{zh|t={{linktext|趙|烈|侯}}|s={{linktext|赵|烈|侯}}|p=Zhào Liè Hóu}}) was a ruler of the State of Zhao during the Warring States period of Chinese history (475-220 BCE). Born Zhào Jí ({{zh|t={{linktext|趙|籍}}|s={{linktext|赵|籍}}}}), his father was Marquess Xian of Zhao ({{zh|t={{linktext|趙|獻|侯}}|s={{linktext|赵|献|侯}}|p=Zhào Xiàn Hóu}}). During his reign the Marquess employed righteous and humane government officials including Gōng Zhònglián ({{zh|c={{linktext|公|仲|连}}}}), Niú Xù ({{zh|c={{linktext|牛|畜}}}}), Xún Xīn ({{zh|c={{linktext|荀|欣}}}}) and Xú Yuè ({{zh|c={{linktext|徐|越}}}}) whilst himself following the virtuous “Way of the King” ({{zh|c={{linktext|王|道}}|p=Wáng Dào}}). When fierce cavalry from the State of Zhōngshān ({{zh|t={{linktext|中|山|國}}|s={{linktext|中|山|国}}}}) attacked the State of Zhao, Marquess Lie allied with Marquess Wen of Wei ({{zh|c={{linktext|魏|文|侯}}|p=Wèi Wén Hóu}}) of the State of Wei to attack Zhongshan and afterwards moved the Zhao capital to Hándān ({{zh|t={{linktext|邯|鄲}}|s={{linktext|邯|郸}}}}). In the sixth year of Marquess Lie’s reign (403 BCE), Zhao, along with Wei and Han, became vassal states of the Zhou Kingdom as a result of the Partition of Jin. Marquess Lie died in 400 BCE in the second year of the reign of King An of Zhou ({{zh|c={{linktext|周|安|王}}|p=Zhōu Ān Wáng}}). Since his son was underage, Marquess Lie’s younger brother Zhào Wŭgōng ({{zh|t={{linktext|趙|武|公}}|s={{linktext|赵|武|公}}}}) succeeded him as ruler. {{DEFAULTSORT:Lie of Zhao, Marquess}}{{China-bio-stub}} 3 : Zhou dynasty nobility|5th-century BC Chinese monarchs|Zhao (state) |
