词条 | Martinho de Araújo |
释义 |
A resident of Dili, he fled his home in 1999 after East Timor's declaration of independence from Indonesia, and the ensuing violence. He subsequently returned to find that his weightlifting training equipment had been stolen or rendered unusable in looting and arson. In order to continue training, de Araújo "improvised with metal rods stuck into paint cans that had been filled with cement."[3] In Sydney, he lifted 67.5 kg in the snatch and 90 kg in the clean and jerk, finishing last. Newsday commented: "He wasn't exactly crushed by it. Chances are none of the other competitors had to make their own weights and barbells to train."[4] References1. ^[https://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/de/martinho-de-araujo-1.html "Martinho de Araujo"], Sports Reference 2. ^"South Korean archers hit world mark", CNN, September 16, 2000 {{webarchive |url=https://www.webcitation.org/5v7NoYNp2?url=http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/olympics/2000/archery/news/2000/09/16/korean_archers/ |date=December 20, 2010 }} 3. ^[https://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9B01E2DC1139F93AA3575AC0A9669C8B63&sec=&spon=&pagewanted=all "OLYMPICS; East Timor Athletes Enjoy Independence"], New York Times, September 9, 2000 4. ^"Undaunted spirit of East Timor's Olympic athletes", Newday, October 1, 2004 {{webarchive |url=https://www.webcitation.org/5v7Noma8Z?url=http://www.etan.org/et2000c/october/1-8/01unda.htm |date=December 20, 2010 }} {{DEFAULTSORT:Araujo, Martinho de}}{{EastTimor-weightlifting-bio-stub}} 7 : 1973 births|Living people|Weightlifters at the 2000 Summer Olympics|Olympic weightlifters of East Timor|People from Dili|Weightlifters at the 2002 Asian Games|East Timorese male weightlifters |
