It was built in 1928, making it the oldest ski area in Washington and one of the oldest in the U.S.[2] The area has been operated as a private ski area since 1975.[1] Meany Lodge is operated by The Mountaineers, a non-profit group, and is located in the Wenatchee National Forest near the eastern portal of the Stampede Pass Train Tunnel. With a {{convert|450|ft|adj=on}} vertical drop the slope has 32 downhill runs (4 of which are groomed).
