The station is located east of the town center, near the Motorway 8 connecting Athens and the Peloponnese peninsula. The station was opened on 27 September 2005 and its current form dates to 2007. It has two platforms and a siding. It should not be confused with the now closed station on the metre gauge SPAP Piraeus–Patras railway, which is located inside the city of Megara itself. {{As of|2013}} the station is on the line between {{rws|Kiato}} and the Athens International Airport and served by one train per hour in both directions.[1]References1. ^{{cite web | url=http://www.proastiakos.net/page/dromolhogia-proastiakou-ose#ose | title=Railway Timetable (in Greek) | publisher=Proastiakos | accessdate=30 July 2013}} {{Greece-railstation-stub}} 4 : Transport in West Attica|Railway stations in Attica|Railway stations opened in 2005|Megara |
