After the death of his father in 2014, he has become the unofficial Wali of Swat.[2] His maternal grandfather is the former President of Pakistan Ayub Khan. EducationHe studied at the primary level within the Abbottabad Public School system. He graduated on the secondary level from Aitchison College,[3] an elite Pakistani secondary school. He is a professional electrical engineer who studied in the United States at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.[3] He subsequently studied and received a Master's degree in Business Administration from Thammasat University in Bangkok, Thailand.
