Michael James Whitty (1795 in Nicharee, Duncormick, County Wexford – 10 June 1873 in Princes Park Liverpool) was an English newspaper editor and proprietor. Whitty was a former Chief Constable for Liverpool, who had campaigned for the abolition of the Stamp Act under which newspapers were taxed.
