He is a descendant of the 16th-century monarch Muhammad Kudarat, also known as Sultan Kudarat of Maguindanao. He served as Congressman[1] from 1987 through 1995, representing the districts of Maguindanao and Cotobato City in Mindanao, Philippines. Mike Mastura Served as Deputy Minister for the Office of Muslim Affairs, Member of the Board of Regents of Mindanao State University, Member of the Southern Philippines Development Authority, and Member of the Mindanao Economic Council.
