The municipality covers an area of {{convert|12.60|km2|sqmi}}, and has a population of 1,931 (as at 1 January 2008). Milotice lies approximately {{convert|12|km|mi|0}} north of Hodonín, {{convert|47|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south-east of Brno, and {{convert|234|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south-east of Prague.
