}}Mitchell Pacwa {{post-nominals|post-noms=SJ}} (born July 27, 1949), known as Mitch Pacwa, is an American Jesuit priest. He is fluent in thirteen languages. He is bi-ritual, meaning that he can celebrate liturgy in both the Roman and Maronite rites. He is president and founder of Ignatius Productions. He has taught at the University of Dallas and Loyola University Chicago and is now the senior fellow of the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology.[1]

Education

After graduating from St. Priscilla Grammar School in Chicago, where he was taught by the Rochester Franciscans, Pacwa completed high school at Archbishop Quigley Preparatory Seminary in 1967.[2] He earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Old Testament from Vanderbilt University as well as a PhD in philosophy. He also holds Master of Divinity and Bachelor of Sacred Theology degrees from the Jesuit School of Theology at Loyola University.

He is an accomplished linguist, speaking several ancient languages including Latin, Koine Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Ugaritic, as well as the modern languages of English, German, Spanish, Polish, Modern Hebrew, Arabic, French, and Italian. He is of Polish descent.[3]

Media

Pacwa is the host of many TV shows. He gave the 2008 commencement address at the Augustine Institute in Denver, Colorado.

Pacwa is also the host of the Wednesday Open Line program and EWTN Live on the EWTN radio network. He also occasionally offers the televised Daily Mass on EWTN.
