The practice officially changed its name from MacCormac Jamieson Prichard to MJP Architects in June 2008.[1] Since October 2007, MJP Architects has been owned and ultimately controlled by its employees, through an Employee Benefit Trust.[2] MJP Architects have worked in a variety of sectors from early social housing schemes in Milton Keynes and several education projects at Oxford and Cambridge universities, through to the training centre for Cable and Wireless in Coventry, the Wellcome Wing of the Science Museum, London,[3] the Ruskin Library at the University of Lancaster,[4] the Southwark tube station for the Jubilee Line Extension,[5] and the Coventry Phoenix Initiative.[6] Recent projects include the Kendrew Quadrangle for St John's College, Oxford,[7] Maggie's Centre in Cheltenham;[8] new staff accommodation and staff facilities for the British Embassy in Bangkok;[9] and university masterplans at Cambridge, Warwick, Birmingham and UCL. On 6 October 2010 a monograph on the practice's work was published. Entitled "Building Ideas - MJP Architects", the book illustrates over 150 projects by the practice. It was edited by Ian Latham with texts by Nicola Jackson and published by Right Angle Publishing. The monograph includes an anthology of over 30 essays by Richard MacCormac; prefaces by Richard Murphy, Colin Stansfield Smith, Richard Burdett and Francis Duffy; and chapter introductory essays by Bryan Lawson, Robert Harbison, Richard Sennett, Margaret Richardson, Peter Davey and Richard Cork.[10] 'Building Ideas - MJP Architects' was reviewed by Alan Powers in the Architects' Journal 2 December 2010.[11] In the RIBA 2011 Awards, MJP Architects won two regional awards : Kendrew Quadrangle St John's College Oxford (RIBA South) and Maggie's Centre Cheltenham (RIBA Wessex).[12] In the 2012 Civic Trust Awards (announced 2 March 2012), MJP Architects won a Civic Trust Award for Kendrew Quadrangle St John's College Oxford and a commendation for Maggie's Centre Cheltenham.[13] GalleryReferences1. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.mjparchitects.co.uk/about.php|title=About MJP Architects|accessdate=2009-08-18|publisher=MJP Architects}} 2. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.mjparchitects.co.uk/index.php?show=about|title=About MJP Architects|accessdate=2008-03-12|publisher=MJP Architects}} 3. ^{{Cite web|url=https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/art/news/all-its-cranked-up-to-be-1321168.html|title=All it's cranked up to be|accessdate=2009-08-18|date=1996-02-26|author=Jonathan Glancey|work=The Independent}} 4. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.hughpearman.com/articles/cwa18.htm |title=Small but perfectly formed |accessdate=2009-08-18 |date=1998-05-10 |author=Hugh Pearman |work=The Sunday Times |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20090714152249/http://www.hughpearman.com/articles/cwa18.htm |archivedate=2009-07-14 }} 5. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.architecturetoday.co.uk/Articles/view.php?id=22120|title=Modern movement: London's Jubilee Line Extension|accessdate=2009-08-18|year=February 2000|author=Kenneth Powell|work=Architecture Today}} {{Dead link|date=October 2010|bot=H3llBot}} 6. ^{{Cite web|url=http://blackdogonline.com/all-books/phoenix.html|title=Phoenix : Architecture/Art/Regeneration|accessdate=2009-08-27|year=2004|work=Black Dog Publishing|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110708012456/http://blackdogonline.com/all-books/phoenix.html|archivedate=2011-07-08}} 7. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.architecturetoday.co.uk/?p=12011|author=Edward Jones|title=MJP Architects' Kendrew Quad at St John's College, Oxford|work=Architecture Today|date=2010-11-01|access-date=2011-02-01|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110930061232/http://www.architecturetoday.co.uk/?p=12011|archive-date=2011-09-30|dead-url=yes}} 8. ^{{Cite web|url=http://content.yudu.com/Library/A1q51r/AJ2ndDecember2010/resources/index.htm?referrerUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.yudu.com%2Fitem%2Fdetails%2F255937%2FAJ|title=Architectural calm|date=2010-12-02|author=Felix Mara|work=Architects' Journal|accessdate=2010-12-02}} 9. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.architectsjournal.co.uk/buildings/public-service/british-embassy-bangkok-by-mjp-architects/5201290.article|title=British Bangkok|accessdate=2009-08-18|date=2009-04-09|author=Rory Olcayto|work=Architects' Journal}} 10. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.mjparchitects.co.uk/monograph.php|title=monograph|accessdate=2010-09-10|publisher=MJP Architects}} 11. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.architectsjournal.co.uk/critics/-richard-maccormac-a-logical-narrative/8608836.article|title=MacCormac: a logical narrative|date=2010-12-02|author=Alan Powers|work=Architects' Journal|accessdate=2010-12-02}} 12. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.mjparchitects.co.uk/news-RIBA-Awards2011.php |title=RIBAAwards2011 |accessdate=2011-06-23 |publisher=MJP Architects |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110527122058/http://www.mjparchitects.co.uk/news-RIBA-Awards2011.php |archivedate=2011-05-27 }} 13. ^{{Cite web|url=http://www.civictrustawards.org.uk/news/news-stories/2012-award-winners-announced/ |title=CivicTrustAwards2012 |accessdate=2012-03-02 |publisher=Civic Trust |deadurl=yes |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120719125915/http://www.civictrustawards.org.uk/news/news-stories/2012-award-winners-announced/ |archivedate=2012-07-19 }} External links{{Commons category}}
