It is the terminus of the Nahariya-Modi'in line, with service to the airport, Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Akko as well. An electrified connection to Jerusalem is currently under construction, with service expected in 2019. The station opened on April 1, 2008. Modi'in Central is the first rail station in Israel that is completely underground, and the largest railway station in Israel, covers an area of approximately 7,000 square meters.[1] The station does not have an on-site parking lot, but a parking area across the highway has been signed and designated as parking for the train station. Commuters either walk to the station or take buses or taxis, which have waiting areas adjacent to the station terminal. GalleryExternal links
