词条 | Morne Diablotin National Park |
释义 |
The park is home to 1,447-meter high Morne Diablotin, the tallest mountain on the island and the second highest mountain in the Lesser Antilles.[2] During the 18th century, the land was home to at least six different encampments of escaped slaves. Dr. John Imray, a Scottish physician, completed the first recorded scaling of Morne Diablotin in 1867.[2] Today, the park is home to 18 different avian species.[3] References1. ^1 {{citation |title=Earth Almanac: A Parrot's Friends Dig Deep to Help Save It |journal=National Geographic |volume=198 |issue=2 |date=August 2000 }} {{Protected areas of Dominica}}{{coord|15|30|N|61|24|W|dim:10000_region:DM|display=title}}{{Dominica-geo-stub}}2. ^1 {{citation |title=Caribbean Hiking: A Hiking and Walking Guide to Thirty of the Most Popular Islands |last=O'Keefe |first=M.
