The Museum of St Albans was a local museum in the city of St Albans, Hertfordshire, England.[1] The museum was founded as the "Hertfordshire County Museum" in 1898. The museum presented the history of St Albans from the end of the Romans onwards. The medieval gallery covers Saint Alban, who was the first Christian martyr in Britain, together with St Albans Abbey that was founded on the site where he was martyred. Outside there is a small wildlife garden with a pond. The museum included the UH Art Gallery with exhibitions created by the University of Hertfordshire.[2] The Hatfield Road venue was closed[3] to the public in September 2015 as part of a project to move the content to a new location. The museum was reopened in 2018 in the old Court House in the city centre.[4] See also
